The expression, ‘the world is your oyster’ is best illustrated by the smash hit video game, Minecraft. For those that don’t know, Minecraft is an extremely popular video game where the player is able to influence and construct the game world molding it to how they best deem it fit! Below are the top 5 tips to help you master the Minecraft world. You’re welcome.
- Control Where You Spawn
There is nothing more frustrating in Minecraft than when you are killed and loose all of your items because you were out exploring too far from home. Fortunately, I have a solution that spares you the ensuing frustration. If you keep 3 wool and 3 planks stocked, you can build a bed and sleep in it. With Minecraft, after you sleep in any bed, it becomes your next spawn point. Build beds for yourself when you are out exploring in the field. In case you die, you’ll spawn close enough to recover dropped items. Keep in mind to always build a bit of protection around your bed!
- Emergency Shelter
Don’t you hate it when you’re out exploring, loose track of time and come to find you’re too far away to make it home before night fall? Yeah, me too. When you’re out exploring and in dire need of an emergency shelter, simply build one! By digging three blocks down and placing one block about you, you will effectively make yourself a fox hole for the night. Be sure to only use this tip in case of emergencies, you’re still vulnerable to creepers!
- Stay Safe from Monsters
Night is the most dangerous time in Minecraft simply because monsters spawn in the dark; making it unsafe to travel and mine. Luckily for you I know of an affordable solution that doesn’t involve calling the ghostbusters. Use torches to illuminate your house and your land! You’ll come to find that light keeps you safe from dark surprises.
So how do you make torches? Glad you asked. Torches are made from combining wooden sticks and coal; both easily accessible materials found throughout the world. To ensure safety, make sure your base is completely lit to keep riff raff at bay. Burn baby burn.
- Irrigate Your Fields
It should come to no surprise that in the open ended world that is Minecraft, plants need water to grow. A way to ensure that you have healthy crops is to irrigate your fields. The dirt your crops grow in need to be kept within four blocks of water to ensure moistness. Use your shovel and a bucket of water to make it happen. You got this!
- Water Has No Rules
Water is one of the few materials found in the Minecraft world that doesn’t play by the rules. Don’t believe me, try Minecraft For Free X and see for yourself. With a single pond of water you can take an infinite amount of buckets from one source and use it fill an infinite sized hole. Be sure to keep buckets of water on you at all times, you never know when it’ll come in handy!
